"This would take a few moments. Please wait!"
Emerging out of sands like a magician's most elaborate trick, Las Vegas is easily the biggest tourism phenomenon to have hit the American shores. Money is the language here and the more you speak the more you seem to get embalmed with the gooey phlegm of almost sickening opulence - call it rock-star luxury if you prefer an improved portrayal! Glamour, glitz, girls, gambling, greed and gluttony - it's funny how the Gs' have dominated Vegas' repertoire. Move beyond from the likes of Bellagios and Caesars and other alphabets of the language come around with 'S'plendid Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 'I'ntriguing Mob Museum, 'A'ffordable Fremont Street Experience and all others!
McCarran International Airport is the main gateway to Las Vegas and Clark County, within Nevada in the USA. The airport is located at a distance of around 8kms from the south of downtown Las Vegas. A number of airlines currently operate scheduled services to this airport. Some of them are: Aeromexico, Air Canada, British Airways, United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America. McCarran International Airport is well connected to different parts of the city, with taxis, shuttles, rental cars and public buses available for transporting passengers. Las Vegas airport is highly modernised with various amenities available at different terminals. The airport has two separate terminal buildings, each with its own parking garage, and shopping and dining alternatives.
Las Vegas is a massive holiday hub with millions of tourists visiting the city every year. In order to serve the massive inflow of tourists, a number of airlines operate scheduled flights to Las Vegas from different corners of the globe. Talking specifically about the United Kingdom's largest airport, London Heathrow, almost all major carriers of the region run services to McCarran International from LHR. Apart from American and British carriers, a host of other operators like Air Canada and Qatar Airways service the route as well. While few direct flights are indeed available, most of the services are single stop or multi stop flights. This also holds true for flights that originate from other UK airports for Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is famous for its glitzy accommodation alternatives. In fact, several hotels in Las Vegas are tourist attractions in their own right! The abundance means there is an increasing competition, which in turn suggests great room prices for tourists. Some of the world's most lavish hotels like the Venetian, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, MGM Grand and Caesars Palace can be found festooning the Strip area of the city. While it is obvious there is no dearth of luxury properties in the city, it is equally true that a host of cheap hotels can also be found in the area. However, the Strip can be an expensive neighbourhood, so it better to seek affordable addresses in other parts of the city.
If there ever was a year-round holiday destination, it is this! Las Vegas' glamour and magnetism has comprehensively overwhelmed the climatic snags, and have made sure that the weather doesn't matter when it comes to having fun in the city. The later half of December can be an excessively busy with skyrocketing cost of flight tickets to Las Vegas. Same can be said about November, as it is the period when the world's largest computer show COMDEX is showcased. June-July and February are considered cheap months when crowd is less and flights and hotels can be tied up with budget strings!
